O Oregon! My Oregon! Winter break is done.
The three week break is over, it really was such fun
My family’s home, so warm and snug, its fridge so full to feed you
Dear friends around, merriment abounds, several movies at the Bijou
But O break! Break! Break!
O your days of endless laze
Christmas came and went so fast
The day passed in such a haze

O Oregon! My Oregon! Your coastline was so pretty
The sounds of waves, the board game debates, Lonny being witty.
The power stopped, the rain did not, but the pizza place came through
All the better for when the clouds all cleared, the eagles soared in sky so blue
But O Oregon! Oregon! Oregon!
O your earth so sopping wet!
I’ll miss your forests, and your beaches.
But more, I’ll miss all my friends’ pets.

My winter break was happy, with babes and books and food
The Ducks failed to win their bowl game, but that hardly ruined the mood
Auld Lang Syne, it’s New Year’s time, 2017 was pretty screwed up
My bag is packed, to school I’m back, I’ll surely need some luck.
The flight’s delayed, so here I sit
With extra time to write
Reflecting on the year that was
Making goals to reach new heights.
