This Week in Bananas

One thing I overlooked about being a blogger was that it takes time to make a post.  Right now it probably takes longer because I am a newbie and I spend 85% of my blog-devoted minutes to googling HTML code solutions for how display two photos side-by-side (compliment me later).  But anyway, this is all to say that this week I wanted to write something eloquent, and thought-provoking, something cool and kind of witty, for my two readers to enjoy.  But instead, my non-work screen time was usurped by things like listening to podcasts, and browsing stubhub for Blazers/Warriors tickets, and going to a pretty cool work conference, and thus I only have a few lousy banana pics to show for myself.

One more thing I will say is that a couple weeks ago I bought this domain name (carlysbananas.com).  And then the scariest thing happened.  I stopped seeing bananas.  For like six whole days, I was in SF, walking around my normal amount, not seeing any yellow peels on the sidewalks.  Admittedly I was worried because I had just rolled out this blog based entirely on bananas on sidewalks, and also because I do see on average one to two per week! I scrolled through my camera roll compiling all banana pics I had ever taken, wondering how long they could sustain me as a blogger if I posted one at a time intermittently.  I wondered if I should start carrying an extra banana carcass with me, and plant it inconspicuously in a public setting.  I was feeling the ethical weight of the social media world on my shoulders.  How far would I go to carry on this thing that was made up in my head anyway? But thankfully, the Bananas On SidewalkS (BOSS) world realigned and I saw four this week.  Things are looking up.

Also, I can't promise you I won't use old pictures, but be assured I will never plant bananas.  Too much podcast listening to have time for that.

Started biking more this week.  It also started raining more this week.  Go figure.
