Bananas and Vices

Banana + Vice: Cigarette Edition

It's that New Year's Resolution time of year. Actually, a couple weeks ago was really that time of year, but I myself already need a reminder in the goals I made, so I figured I'd post them here, for some accountability from my community of e-acquaintances and friends to whom I text this link. Also it so happens that one of my resolutions is to write on this thing twice a month, rather than just once, so here I am knocking out several birds with one stone.

A vice, I looked up, has a spectrum of definitions including: immoral or wicked behavior, criminal activities involving pornography, prostitution or drugs, and a weakness of character or behavior; a bad habit. Now the magazine name makes more sense but the name for the office under the president does not? The lattermost definition is what I intend to address today, because I have several bad habits I want to improve upon in the year 2K18.

My Vice
My Resolution
Going too fast
I do a lot of things quickly, from making coffee to catching up with dear friends, and I tell myself it’s ok because I’m being efficient. Lately the speed at which I’m going through life has edged less towards efficient and more towards careless. So I thought this year would be a good time to set a different tone.
Slow down
in day-to-day tasks, in packing full the weekends. Relax more, no more racing through life except when I’m actually racing (see below)
Going too slow
{In running only}
Run faster
when working out
Staring at screens a ton
Fall asleep and wake up to something else
Cram style of studying
Anything but that
Telling others I like to write when I actually write very seldom and it’s usually a melodramatic review of my most recent bad date
Write something every day. Anything. Preferably not a self-centered diary entry, but I’ll be lenient.
*if anyone knows how to center tables in html, hmu.

They say to make achieving goals easier they should be measurable and clearly defined. I guess I've always liked a challenge so I'll leave most of them as abstract ideals. As Alexi Pappas, runner extraordinaire has said
"good thing i didn't accomplish all my goals yet because then what would i do tomorrow?"
