Bananas and Real Talk

It's February, the month that saves us from unrelenting misery that is January and whose name I still misspell because that "r" never has made any sense. With the advent of FebRuary comes Valentine's Day. I've loved this holiday since the days of handmade mailboxes and scratch-and-sniff cards for every member of your third grade class, and I don't intend to stop now. In adult life there is a lot of focus on romantic love around Valentine's day. But regardless of your relationship status, on Feb 14th, I think we should be permitted, even encouraged, to celebrate the different types of love in our lives.

I can identify with it being hard to find love to celebrate sometimes. I think being single when you'd prefer not to be is one of the more emotionally trying situations you can be in, particularly in the couple-centric society we live in today. It's probably why I find myself making doodling, dawdling, daydreamy lists like the one I'm featuring below, as today's Carly is Actually Bananas post.

I hope those reading this will firstly, be able to read my handwriting, and secondly, realize that even if romantic love isn't what you're celebrating on the 14th, friendship love and family love and any other kind of love is just as good of reason to buy some roses and eat some chocolate. Look for something and you'll find it, and love works the same way.

This was likely {certainly} subconsciously inspired by the instafamous artist Mari Andrew whose matter of fact and touching style of art hits home all too often
